Hi all,
UPDATE: my Dwarf 3 is getting replaced by Dwarlab following the discussion on the rattling noise inside. Top service!
This time, nothing more than a quick post to share the progress of adding more and more light to M31, Andromeda Galaxy.
Going from 30 minutes (first image), to 1 hour 35 min on second and a total of 3 hours and 8 minutes on the third.
For the rest, I continue to struggle with sub optimal stacking rate. On yesterday’s session of 1 hour at 60 seconds exposure only had 61% successful stacking:
"shotsStacked": 60,
"shotsTaken": 98,
While at 30 seconds exposure I had 84%, which is much better, but even that could be better IMO. Especially because of the weirdness I see in the stacking logic. Some images being discarded actually look as good as some added to the stack, while during previous session on M31 I saw pictures completely being blocked by a cloud (hence target barely visible), being considered as good.
"shotsStacked": 60,
"shotsTaken": 71,
I’m currently in talks with Dwarflab, as recently I realized, by gently wobbling the Dwarf 3 in my hand, that I hear some rattling noise. As if there is something loose inside. I kind of heard that before already but ignored it, as everything seemed to be working correctly, and it could be the built in filter or something. When you change the filter in the settings during a capturing session, you also hear it click. So it could be that it is actually kind of loose by design, but at this moment I’m not confident.
Obviously the Dwarf has never ever been dropped or whatever, I handle this awesome device with the most insane care.
Anyway, in further talks with Dwarflab as something is off the optimal behavior here for sure.

To endless exploration, starry nights, and a little bit of cosmic nerdiness!
